Hi, I’m Jen and I’m a licensed psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of young children ages 0-5 and their families.  I help the littlest of children who want so badly to function in an adult world but struggle when their bodies are overcome with feelings they just don’t understand and impulses they can’t control.  I enlist their parents as my co-therapist in sessions and we work together to understand the child and figure out unique and concrete solutions to everyday problems.

 

I have over a decade of clinical experience with children and their families but nothing has taught me more than the school of life. As a mother of young children myself, I can tell you that this parenting stuff is not for faint of heart. Parenting drives you to your deepest darkest places and it can be downright scary when you lose your cool. But at the end of the day, parents are the key to their child’s success and I believe in not just treating the child but treating the parent-child pair.

About My Education and Training;

I have a Bachelors Degree Child Development from Purdue University and a Masters Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. While earning my hours towards licensure I worked in Los Angeles’ most impoverished neighborhoods providing infant mental health services, play therapy, and trauma treatment to children ages 0-5. Throughout the 12 years I spent in Los Angeles I was an invited speaker, professor, trainer and clinical supervisor for MFT interns. In addition to my clinical work I worked as a parent educator, sleep consultant, and group facilitator for some of LA’s top rated Mommy and Me classes.
